Day 1: Arrival Cape Town in the morning. There is a lot to experience in Cape Town. Center of Cape Town: The Waterfront, Green Square Market and enjoying the sunset over Cape Town from Table Mountain. Dinner at one of the many seafood restaurants is highly recommended. Over night within walking distance of "The Waterfront". (B) Day 2: We recommend the wine route! Full day, with visits to four or five of the most famous wine estates, wine-tasting and lunch. (B) Day 3: Cape of Good Hope, Chapmans Peak, Simonstown to see the unique Jackass Penguins. (B) Day 4: Boat trip to the famous prison-island: Robben Island. Table Mountain. (B) Day 5: Fly from Cape Town to Durban in the morning. We meet you at the airport and check you in at a hotel along "The Golden Mile". In Durban there should be something for everybody: shopping, beach, restaurants from all corners of the world, visit to the largest herbal-market in the world and other colorful markets. Dolphin safari, deep-sea fishing and shark-center. (B) Day 6: You drive north to the land of heaven: Zululand, and to Simunye Zulu-village. To get to the village you either ride horseback, or go in an ox-wagon into the untouched valley of the Bayela clan. A proper cultural experience: spear throwing, stick fighting, visit with the local chief, song and dance. Overnight in round Zulu-huts of top standard, and traditional and tasteful food is served. The place can only accommodate up to 28 people, so you are out of the regular mass-tourist path. (B/D) Day 7-8: Your journey continues north, and you can stop along the way for some shopping at local markets. Drive to the private gamereserve: Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve. Incredible wildlife experiences at five star lodge. (B/L/D + all game drives) Day 9-10: Time to get the feel of "Karen Blixen", and you move on to one of Africas oldest nature reserves: Pongola Biosphere. Day 11-12: After breakfast you drive to one of the most unique areas in South Africa: St. Lucia. St. Lucia is a small fishermans town, in the heart of this recently declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arrival St. Lucia in time for lunch: Want a crocodile pizza? Boat cruise while the sun sets. This cruise goes northwards on a 120 kilometers brackish lake. In this lake you find the largest population of hippos in Africa (approx. 800). You are guaranteed to see crocodiles and an amazingly rich bird life. Day 13: Back to Durban to spend you last night on African ground. (B) Day 14: Departure Durban in the afternoon. |
