The trip starts in Cape Town. The city is considered one of the world`s most beautiful. There are many opportunities for fantastic experiences. Then a couple of days on the world`s most luxurious train journey, before you fly to the border of Kruger for safari at Sabi Sabi.

Tour Overview

Day 1

Cape Town - Arrival Cape Town. There are lots of things to do in Cape Town and the surroundings. Central Cape Town: The Waterfront, Green Market Square and enjoy the sunset over Cape Town from Table Mountain. We recommend dinner at one of the many seafood restaurants at the Waterfront. Accommodation at "Waterfront" in a hotel of good standard. We recommend you stay in this area, because you can walk to all the facilities without the need of transportation. Overnight at Cape Grace. (B)

Day 2

Cape Peninsula – During your stay in Cape Town, we include a full day with guide and transportation, and we suggest the day could be spent as follows: Drive along the eastside of Cape Peninsula. Stop in Simon’s town and visit the special Jackass penguins. The trip continues to Cape of Good Hope”. On the way back, you will drive along the dramatic west coast through the well known beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. There is also a chance to stop at a vineyard if you wish?

Day 3

Robben Island – It was here that Nelson Mandela was kept as a political prisoner for most of his life. He was released in February 1990. In 1996 the Robben Island museum was established as a national monument and a national museum. In December 1999 Robben Island was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The trip is guided by a local guide who was a former political prisoner of Robben Island.

Day 4

Rovos Rail – You go ”back in time” when you enter the exclusive Rovos Rail train. This is not only a train journey, but an experience from a lost time. From the coast and along the 1600 km route, the train follows an old pioneer road surrounded by the African landscape. You will pass through vineyards, climb up the River Valley and stop in the historical town, Matjiesfontein. (Breakfast and transfer from hotel – train station are included) During the train journey all meals and drinks are included).

Day 5

Rovos Rail – You pass through Karoo to the mining town of Kimberley. It was here that the first diamond in the world was found. Lunch at the historical Kimberley club, before a City tour and “The Big Hole”.

Day 6

Pretoria – Arrival at Rovos Rail train station with the steam train. The station is situated in the middle of Pretoria, but is surrounded by a big, green area, and a small game reserve with antelopes running free among others animals. Overnight a ”Court Classique”………. in the centre of Pretoria. Beautiful Pretoria is known as “Jacaranda City”. The Jacaranda flower blooms in October, and the whole city is covered by a purple carpet. Visit the Voortrekker monument, a huge granite building with a museum built in the memory of “the Great Trek”. Court Square is dominated by the statue of Paul Kruger, the president of South- Africa from 1883-1900. The place is surrounded by nice, old buildings – the Old Raadsal (parlament) among others and the Palace of Justice. The impressive Union Building was drawn by Sir Herbert Baker and completed in 1913. This building is considered one of the architect's finest and one of the foremost architectural masterpieces in South Africa. This was the place where Nelson Mandela's historic inauguration as president was the 10th of May 1994 and Thabo Mbeki on the 16th of June, 1999.

Day 7-9

Safari: Sabi Sabi – Arrival Johannesburg in the middle of the day. You will be met, then fly from JNB Intl. Airport to inside the private concession of Kruger and land on the African plains (about 1 hr flight) On arrival at Sabi you will be met and transferred to:   Sabi Sabi safari To Sabi Sabi private game reserve Sabi Sabi is located in the private part of Kruger which is called Sabi Sands. Here is the biggest opportunity of spotting animals. Overnight 3 nights. (All meals, drinks and safaris included) You will go and search for”the unattainable Big Five” (elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard). Fantastic animal experiences and a unique safari experience are guaranteed. 

Day10

Transfer back to Sabi and you will fly from here to JNB Intl. Airport for connecting flight to Norway.
