Day 2 |
Cape of Good Hope
During your stay in Cape Town we recommend you to go on a full day tour around the Cape Peninsula. Some of the places you will explore: Cape of Good Hope, Chapman`s Peak and Simon`s Town to see the special African Jackass penguins. |
Day 3 |
Franschhoek
You will be picked up at the hotel and drive to the winelands. Arrive in Franschhoek, and enjoy the small and nice streets with art shops, great restaurants and many known wine estates close by. Overnight at a central guest house. We are more than happy to reserve dinner for both nights in Franschhoek. |
Day 4 |
We recommend a pick nick lunch at the wine estate close by. |
Day 5 |
From the wine lands to safari
Transfer to Cape Town international airport. Fly to Johannesburg (about 2 hours) and then further with a small aircraft straight out to the bush. You will land on the African plains and go look for “the Big 5” (elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard). A unique safari experience is guaranteed. You will arrive at the lodge just in time for a late lunch and afternoon safari. |
Day 6 - 7 |
Typical days in the game reserve start early, simply because then it is a bigger chance of spotting animals. Up at 5am. Tea and coffee is served before you depart for the safari. 3- 4 hrs safari with breaks, and then return to the lodge for a healthy brunch. In the middle of the day it is often too hot for both people and animals. The pool will cool you down. At 3pm you will meet for “High Tea”, a snack lunch, and then you depart for another safari with sunset cocktails over the savannah. Safari in an open land rover with your own game ranger and tracker. This is how you get the real African feeling of the animal life. We have experienced that time and place is forgotten when you see elephants blocking the road! |
Day 8 |
Johannesburg
After a last morning safari and breakfast, you will be picked up by a guide and transferred to Johannesburg. This way you will see some of the African towns. (4 ½ hrs). Or small aircraft back to Johannesburg. Overnight at a little and romantic hotel in Sandton. Many restaurants, clubs and shops to choose from. |
Day 9 - 13 |
Either travel home or travel further to Mozambique – You will be picked up at your hotel for your flight home or further to Mozambique.
You will fly from Johannesburg to Vilanculos in Mozambique. After the passport control you will immediately be transferred in a small aircraft (10 minutes) to paradise. The Bazaruto reserve is protected islands. We use three lodges in this area: Azura, Indigo Bay and Bazaruto Lodge.
Recommended activities: Boat hire with a skipper for one day and go on dive- and fishing combo tour. Indigo Bay is located in the middle of a protected area and has an extraordinary marine diversity. The almost extinct sea cow Dugong lives here. It is an experience to see these special animals, where they swim slowly and in pairs. It is estimated only 500 dugongs left in the whole world.
The lodges have snorkel equipment and offers diving courses. Seafishing are also exciting. Other activites: water ski, sailing and paddle. We recommend an afternoon with Dune boarding in open jeeps in the sand dunes. And of course you have to pop into the areas spa. |
Day 14 |
ly back to Johannesburg for connecting flight home. |
