DAY 2: THE HIGHLANDS

After breakfast you will continue to Ngorongoro. You fly to Lake Manyara and are met by your guide who drives you through spectacular scenery. You stop for wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater and continue up to the beautiful camp, The Highlands!

It's good to stretch your legs after days of traveling a lot. Straight from the camp, you can follow an old Maasai trail through mountain forest, across grasslands and over rocky landscapes. Along the way you can see birds and butterflies. At the top you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the crater below.

DAY 3-4: NGORONGORO

You plan the days as you wish together with the guide. For example, you can explore the 300 km2 Ngorongoro Crater. The guide packs a picnic lunch to be enjoyed under a shady tree. Here you can, among other things, spot the "big five".

Together with the guide, you can also go down into the Empakaai crater to the soda lake, famous for the pink flamingos. Due to its location, The Highlands is the only camp that can offer a half-day trip here. It is also possible to spend an afternoon with the Maasai in a neighboring village to learn about their traditional way of life. Visit a market to support local traders or walk with the herders as they bring the cattle back to the boma for the night.

DAY 6-7: SERENGETI

At Namiri, safari activities start in the early morning and in the late afternoon. Then the wildlife is most active. You explore the area with guides in search of the big cats that have made the Serengeti so famous.

You travel back to the camp for a delicious lunch, and to take a siesta or read a good book. The evenings are spent sharing stories of the day's adventures with other guests around the dinner table.
