THE HEART OF AFRICA - MALAWI
Every visitor is greeted with the smile and warmth of a hospitable people in the country known as the warm heart of Africa. Malawi is an undiscovered gem in the middle of Zambia, Tanzania and Mozambique. The country's main attraction is the vast, crystal clear lake, Lake Malawi.
DAY 1-3: LIVING NATIONAL PARK
The journey goes to Mvuu in Liwonde National Park, Malawi's premier safari destination. The park is a varied landscape of swamp, forest, open grasslands, palm trees and huge baobab trees. This is a small but species-rich national park with, among other things, over 400 bird species. Accommodation in beautiful tents on the shores of the Shire River or in cabins. Activities: day / night safaris, boat safaris, goose safaris and cycling trips to Njobvu, the local village.
DAY 4 –NUM: MUMBO ICELAND, LAKE MALAWI
Mumbo Island is located on a pristine island south of Lake Malawi. Surrounded by the Lake Malawi National Park, this exclusive campsite offers barefoot luxury and tranquility. There are many species of the colorful freshwater fish, cicklids, which are the locusts of Lake Malawi which have more species of fish than any other lake in the world. Because of this, Lake Malawi National Park is declared World Heritage Site.
DAY 4 –NUM: MUMBO ICELAND, LAKE MALAWI
The camp is hidden between rocks and beach, surrounded by crystal clear water. Accommodation in tastefully furnished tents and a family unit with shade deck, hammocks, en-suite hot bucket shower and "eco-toilet". The camp is only powered by solar energy. Mumbo Island Camp offers varied experiences, such as kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, boat trips, hiking and bird watching. This is one of the most magical places in Africa.
DAY 8: DEPARTURE
Everything good has an end and you travel from Mumbo Island by boat and further by car to Lilongwe. It's time for a return trip.
