ACTIVE HOLIDAY IN SOUTH AFRICA
The trip starts in Cape Town where you climb Table Mountain and cycle in wine country. The journey continues to spectacular Drakensberg and Cathedral Peak where you can go on various hikes. The longest and most demanding of 9-10 hours goes up to 3004 masl. The journey ends with some exciting days on safari in the "big five" reserve.
DAY 1: CAPE TOWN
Upon arrival at Cape Town Int. Airport you will be met and driven to the hotel.
Cape Town is one of the most popular resorts in the world. Some say it is the most beautiful in the world. With Table Mountain as the backdrop, the city is there as "a piece of Europe in Africa".
DAY 2: CAPE TOWN
Guided city tour on foot for about three hours. If it can sometimes be quite steep climbs, the trip is not particularly demanding. The best thing is of course the view you have from the top of Lions Head at 669 meters. Enjoy the views of Cape Town, the Atlantic Ocean and Camps Bay. One cannot avoid the view of Table Mountain. DAY 3: CAPE TOWN
This day you can visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and get a guided hike up Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch is a UNESCO conservation area due to its species richness, there are more than 5 000 species of fynbos vegetation in the area. It is called Africa's most beautiful garden.
DAY 4: VINLAND
DAY 5: BIKE TOUR IN VINLAND
You will experience the best of South African wine, by bike. On a 15 km long bike ride, you get the best wine selection at the vineyards you visit.
The trip starts, for example, with a Welmoed tasting, followed by Spier and on to Vredenheim where you stop for lunch at Barrique and end with a brandy.
DAY 6-8: DRAKENSBERG
After breakfast and check-out you will be driven to Cape Town Airport where you fly to Durban. We continue towards Drakensberg the high mountain range that runs throughout South Africa. Here in KwaZulu-Natal, on the border with the mountain Lesotho, the mountains are up to 3400 m high. In the area here you can safely go hiking on your own. The hotel is right next to the mountains with incredible views up to the mountain tops. From the hotel there are many beautiful footpaths, the longest up Cathedral Peak at 3.004Xh (910 hours trip).
DAY 9: SAFARI
It's time to enjoy quiet days in the African wilderness. You're flying to Durban. From here the trip goes north where you will find some exciting nature reserves. Here you get to experience beautiful nature and exciting wildlife in a private nature reserve with "The Big Five": lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. Accommodation at a beautiful 5 star lodge in luxurious tents / suites. On hot summer days, it is good to cool off in the pool between the safaris.
DAY 10: SAFARI
DAY 11: DEPARTURE
After a last morning safari and breakfast we set course for the airport. It's time to go home.
