HIGH AND LOW IN KWAZULU-NATAL
Experience the best of KwaZulu-Natal. This trip offers lots of activities and fresh air. The journey begins with exciting days on safari in Zululand, followed by active days at Kosi Bay, before the journey ends in the mighty Drakensberg mountains. We arrange travel so that you drive a rental car between cozy and intimate lodges in KwaZulu-Natal.
DAY 1: SAFARI
On arrival at Durban Airport you pick up a rental car and drive to the safari lodge. The drive takes about 3 hours. In the afternoon it will be time for safari!
DAY 2 AND X: SAFARI
A typical day in the game reserve starts early in the morning, that is when the chances are greatest to see animals. Up approx. at 05:00. Tea / coffee and a simple breakfast are served before the safari departure. 3-4 hour safari with breaks and back to the lodge for a healthy "brunch". In the middle of the day it is often too hot for both animals and humans. Around 15:00 there is "High Tea", a snack lunch, before you again go on safari with drinks at sunset. Time and place are easily forgotten when a herd of elephants blocks the road!
DAY 4: KOSI BAY
After a few days of fantastic safari driving guides to the Kosi Bay Forrest Lodge which is on the border with Mozambique. This intimate lodge is located in the middle of a very special nature reserve here you can explore lakes, beaches and the magrove forest.
The lodge offers a variety of activities.
DAY 5-6: KOSI BAY
Day at your own disposal at Kosi Bay. Explore the unique mangrove forest on foot or by canoe. Or how about a boat trip on the lake that flows into the Indian Ocean? End the day with drinks at sunset.
DAY 6-9: DRAKENSBERG
Today you drive to the northern part of the Drakensberg Mountains and to the Tree Three Hill lodge.
It offers a number of activities such as: Battlefield hiking, hiking in the Drakensberg mountains, mountain biking and horseback riding, hiking in the Spioenkop game reserve and much more.
DAY 10: DEPARTURE
It's time to go home. You will be taken back to Durban Airport or Johanneburg for your return trip.
