DAY 1: MASAI MARA

You arrive at Nairobi Airport. You will be met at the Arrivals Hall and driven to Wilson Airport. Here you fly in small planes to the Masai Mara where you will be met by your local Masai guide who will be with you on safari every morning and afternoon. You drive in open safari cars to the Norwegian-owned safari camp, Basecamp Masai Mara. The camp is located along the river on the border of the national park, Masai Mara. Here you will find the highest density of wild animals in the world and all the "Big Five".

After refreshments and lunch, head out on a safari in the Masai Mara and enjoy the sunset on the savannah. There will be dinner after the safari, and in the evening you can relax around the fire and get to know the Masai culture better.

DAY 2: MASAI MARA

A typical day on safari starts early in the morning, when the chance of seeing animals is greatest. Up approx. at 05:00. Tea/coffee or a simple breakfast is served before safari departure. You are out on safari for 3-4 hours with breaks and return to the lodge for breakfast.

In the middle of the day it is often too hot for both animals and people. You can visit the Maasai village nearby or plant trees in the same forest where Barack Obama and his family planted the first seeds in 2006. We encourage all our travelers to plant a tree in The "Obama Forest" or visit one of the other projects of Base camp.

After lunch and refreshments, there is a new afternoon safari with departure at approximately 16:00. There will be a stop along the way for a "sundowner" when the sun sets over the savannah. You are back at the camp in time for dinner.

DAY 3 - 4 NABOISHO

After the morning safari and breakfast you travel on to Mara Naboisho. The area is adjacent to the national park (without fences) and the animals can freely move between the reserves. Here, a few operators collaborate with the Masai to preserve the ecosystem and prevent conflicts between animals and humans.

Naboisho is known for its fertility, biodiversity and for beautiful experiences. The density of lions in Naboisho is among the highest in the entire world. You can choose to spend the night at various camps in Mara Naboisho, all of which offer different experiences.

DAY 5: STONE TOWN, ZANZIBAR

After the last morning safari and breakfast it is time to move on. You farewell to their Masai guide and drive to the Mara Naboisho airstrip to fly via Nairobi to Zanzibar.

You will be staying in the Old Town, Stone Town at Emerson Spice, a beautiful boutique hotel. The rooftop restaurant "Tea House" is one of the city's best restaurants offering "Taste Safari" based on the island's access to fantastic seafood. The hotel is a restored palace that once belonged to a Swahili sultan and is a feast for the eyes! Each room is uniquely decorated, with stained glass windows, high ceilings and a balcony.

DAY 6 - 10: ZANZIBAR

After breakfast, we recommend a guided tour through the city's narrow streets. Enjoy the Swahili culture, join a "spice tour" and see the old slave market.

It's time for a few days of total relaxation. You will be taken to a resort with access to the swimming pool, beach and crystal clear water. From here you can try water activities and various other excursions. The conditions for snorkeling and diving at Zanzibar are extremely good. If you are lucky you can also come across turtles and dolphins.

We can recommend a lunch or dinner outing at The Rock Restaurant, which has become world famous through social media. At high tide you have to be transported by boat out to the small restaurant that is at the end of the beach. At low tide you can walk from the beach right out to the restaurant. Here you can taste fresh seafood at a restaurant outside of the ordinary (please book in advance).

DAY 11: DEPARTURE

It's time for a return trip. You are driven back to Zanzibar airport and fly home.
