Long white sandy beaches, coral reefs, crystal clear waters, delicious spices and interesting history. Zanzibar is the perfect holiday destination.

Zanzibar is still characterized by over 200 years under the Sultanate of Oman. The similarity between Zanzibar's Stonetown and Oman's capital is still evident, though Stonetown's charm lies in its small alley, sun-bleached stone houses and the absence of modern buildings. It is now also listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. People in Zanzibar live mainly on fishing, agriculture, tourism and spice exports. Activities include swimming, diving, snorkeling, and other water sports. We recommend a trip to one of the many spice farms.

To Zanzibar`s little sister with a northern Norwegian ferry: Few people travel to Zanzibar brings with it that the state consists of two islands. The slightly smaller island of Pemba is an overnight trip away with the former Norwegian ferry "M / S Lyngen". The boat, which still has instructions and signs in Norwegian, now goes on a fixed route between the two Zanzibar islands. Pemba lacks hotels, schools and large shops and not least tourists. In fact, there are so few tourists coming to Pemba that the locals still remember those who visited the island several years ago. Pemba is more similar to mainland Tanzania than to its flat older sister in the south of the sea, nor does it carry the same character of Omanian possession. The common denominator is the ever-present spice scent, it is just even stronger on Pemba! Pemba is definitely worth a visit, but one cannot expect the same standard as the rest of Zanzibar.
